Wavelet
A wearable tracker for fitness and health research

HOW WE HELPED
Wavelet came to us with a prototype wearable device and needed apps and a scalable server architecture to be built. We used Bluetooth Low Energy to its very limits in syncing detailed biometric data from the devices to iPhone and Android devices. Once the data was on the phone, we passed it to the cloud compute platform for heavy-duty machine learning and other processing. The phone would then display detailed information about the user's heart rate, blood oxygen content, REM cycles during sleep, and even what types of exercises were performed during a workout.

At the time we were developing Wavelet, Bluetooth was an unstable technology on both Android and iOS. We had to put in robust error handling and other rate throttling mechanisms to ensure the stability of the phones while connected to the wearables.
